Know Your Health. Prevent Future Problems.

At AVIA Clinic, we believe prevention is the key to long-term health. Our comprehensive yet focused health screening packages are designed to assess the most important aspects of your health, helping identify potential concerns before symptoms develop.

Unlike many providers, we focus on clinically relevant tests without including unnecessary investigations, giving you a clear understanding of your overall health.

Our Health Screening Includes

What We Assess

Our screening programme provides a comprehensive overview of your health by evaluating the body’s key systems.
Blood Health
Your full blood count helps assess your general health and can detect conditions such as anaemia, infections and inflammation.

Your screening includes:
Haemoglobin
Hemoglobin is the iron rich protein in your red blood cells that carries oxygen around the body. Low levels indicate anaemia which causes fatigue, breathlessness and poor concentration. This can also potentially be a warning of serious medical issues such as cancer.
This is a marker of immune system health. It can increase in infection or inflammation. It can be reduced in viral illness or certain medications. It can also indicate more serious conditions. It is made up of specific white cells such as neutrophils and lymphocytes.
They help the body to clot. Low counts can increase the risk of bleeding or indicate issues with bone marrow. If raised it can be a sign of inflammation, low iron or more serious causes such as cancer.
Kidney Health
Your kidneys play an essential role in filtering waste products and maintaining the body's fluid and electrolyte balance. Our screening helps identify early signs of reduced kidney function.

Your screening includes:
eGFR
This is the main marker which measures how well your kidney is filtering waste from your blood. When low it indicates problems with kidney function.
This is a waste product generated from the breakdown of muscle tissue and dietary protein. If raised, it can indicate poor kidney health and is interpreted together with the eGFR.
Another waste product that healthy kidneys remove from blood. It can rise also in dehydration but also rarely indicates serious issues such as bleeding in your digestive system.

They help the body to clot. Low counts can increase the risk of bleeding or indicate issues with bone marrow. If raised it can be a sign of inflammation, low iron or more serious causes such as cancer.

Liver Health
Your liver performs hundreds of essential functions including detoxification, metabolism and nutrient storage. Our liver profile helps identify early signs of liver stress or disease.

Your screening includes:
ALT
This liver protein can be high when the liver is strained such as in acute infections but also due to poor lifestyle such as excessive alcohol or when fat builds up on the liver.
An enzyme found throughout the body that can indicate issues with either liver or bone health. It can be a marker of issues in the gallbladder or pancreas and is interpreted together with other markers.
This is broken down from red blood cells. High levels cause jaundice, yellowing of the skin. Very high levels can be a sign of serious issues including cancer or serious liver disease. Many people can have a mildly raised level with a harmless condition called Gilbert’s syndrome.

They help the body to clot. Low counts can increase the risk of bleeding or indicate issues with bone marrow. If raised it can be a sign of inflammation, low iron or more serious causes such as cancer.

Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health
These tests help assess your risk of diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disorders and nutritional deficiencies while providing valuable insight into your overall metabolic health.

Your screening includes:
HBA1C
This average of your sugar levels is the most accurate way of detecting diabetes or the warning signs that diabetes may develop in the future.
You will find out your total cholesterol as well as good and bad cholesterol levels. High levels, especially bad cholesterol, can increase your risk of heart disease and stroke and should be tackled.
This is the main fat in your blood. High levels also contribute to heart disease and can predict diabetes risk. Lifestyle modifications are key to lowering this.
The key marker of thyroid function. Your thyroid gland produces thyroxine which is a metabolism hormone. TSH is produced in the brain as a response to fluctuations in thyroid levels. This can indicate either underactivity of your thyroid which causes fatigue and general slowing down. Overactivity of the thyroid is less common but presents with everything in the body speeding up.
Vital for your bone health and muscle contractions. Both high and low levels can be caused by issues with your parathyroid gland and vitamin D levels. Treatment depends on the underlying cause. Very abnormal levels require prompt treatments.
Produced by the body from absorption from the sun. This is a common deficiency and easily corrected especially over those winter months! Main symptoms when low are fatigue and joint aches.

Deficiencies are often due to dietary factors but can also indicate absorption problems in the digestive system. Severe deficiencies can cause nerve problems or even memory issues and need urgent correction.

Men's Health Screening
For men wishing to gain a more complete picture of their health, additional screening tests are available.

These include:
Testosterone
The main male hormone for muscle mass, bone strength, mood and sexual function. Low levels are often missed and easily corrected.
A protein released by the prostate gland which can indicate a large prostate or more importantly possible prostate cancer.
These tests can provide valuable information about hormone balance, prostate health, energy levels and overall wellbeing.

Women's Health Screening
Our additional female health screening is designed to support women through every stage of life, from fertility planning to menopause.

Additional tests include:
Oestrogen
A key female hormone that can be low after the menopause or premature ovarian failure. High levels can indicate some cancers. This can also be useful to assess fertility status.
These hormones are produced in the pituitary gland and can be used to assess conditions such as polycystic ovaries, menopausal status and for fertility assessments.
These markers help assess hormone balance, fertility, menopausal status and other aspects of women's health.
